Baked Ziti

  • 4 Servings:

  • 200 g Pasta (Ziti)
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 whole Carrot
  • .5 Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 500 ml Tomato Sauce
  • Salt, Pepper
  • 1 tsp Oregano (dried)
  • .5 tsp Marjoram (dried)
  • 2 tbsp Parsley (fresh, chopped)
  • 100 g Mozzarella Cheese
  • 30 g Parmesan Cheese (grated)
  1. Directions:

  2. Cook ziti in boiling, salted water. Set aside. Shred cheese. Shred carrots and chop onions and garlic.
  3. To prepare sauce: heat olive oil in saucepan. Add carrots and onion; cook for about 5 minutes. Add garlic, tomato sauce, oregano, and marjoram. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 180 C (350 F) degrees.
  5. Mix cooked ziti and sauce together and put into an oven-safe dish or pan. Make sure the pan or dish is adequately oiled to prevent sticking.
  6. Combine mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses; sprinkle over ziti mixture. Sprinkle with parsley and bake for 25 minutes, or until cheese is browned.
