Moroccan Rice

  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • .25 whole Onion
  • .25 tsp Cumin (powder)
  • 1 whole Bay Leaf
  • 3 clove Garlic
  • .125 tsp Clove (powder)
  • .1 tsp Broth (powder)
  • .5 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Almonds (sliced)
  • .125 tsp Turmeric
  • 150 g Rice (3/4 cup)
  • 375 ml Water

  2. Finely chop onion and mince garlic. Melt .5 tablespoon butter in a pan, using low heat. Add almonds and cook until lightly toasted. Using a different small pot, add remaining half tablespoon of butter, onion, cumin, bay leaf, minced garlic, clove, broth powder, turmeric, water, and salt. Bring liquid to a boil and cook covered for about 10-15 minutes on medium heat. Mix in toasted almonds last and remove bay leaf before serving.
